Relationships!!! week 3

Base : YWAM Newcastle - The Youth Street Base
The January Summer Plus DTS has just had an amazing week of lectures on relationships from an amazing woman named Jenny Gruenenwald from New Zealand. She spoke of the relationship table having legs of Love, Trust, Honour and Understanding. We learnt about our relationships with each other and finished the week with a time of forgiveness and freedom. We then spent some time with the boys honouring the girls with cake and notes and flowers and a song and the girls honouring the boys with cookies notes and statements of truth. It was an amazing week. This week we also learned about the Youth Street Values: dynamic, inclusive, honouring, developmental, and multiplication. Once we finished being taught all the values we got to act them out in hilarious dramas. This week we also began morning runs, which included joyful shouts of some and the sad faced response of others. As well as morning prayer meetings, which have focused us on getting time to quietly sit with God. This week we also celebrated Australia day. The day when Australians have barbeques and listen to the hottest one hundred on local radio and play sport. So the entire base went out to a local lake and had a barbeque dinner and went water ski/biscuiting. A bunch of us played American football and then sat around chatting and playing guitar. A little sun burn was had, but thanks to the wonderful pharmacy red skin is slowly lessening in glow. The weather has been strange. Some days being stiflingly hot, others being overcast and rainy. We’ve been getting closer as a family and last night got told where our OUTREACH LOCATIONS will be!!!! We will be sent to India, Mozambique and Papua New Guinea. YAAAAAAAY So we watched a picture slide show and got really excited last night. This coming week we will be leaving for camping for 2 weeks! We will be heading out to Myall Lakes National Park and setting up our camp at Clear Water. We will be sleeping in tents and having all of our meals outdoors as well as all of our lectures.
