Working among cultures and languages you have probably encountered a situation where you either got stuck communicating, or found great help through translation. As with people, this is also often the case with technology. Praise God for creativity, where people invent new things that serve our lives. In a global mission we need solutions that talk together and help us work more effectively.
GENESIS uses an international standard that is open, which means that no company will monopolise it, making it a safe option to develop a global network. While there are still many that cannot yet connect via this standard, either because they are traveling, or for other reasons, the GENESIS Centre is now offering a new service, where up to five participants can be connected to a GENESIS event through an application running in their Internet browser. This makes it easy to add participants that are from locations that do not yet have GENESIS. If you plan a meeting via GENESIS and some of your participants need alternative ways to be connected, please e-mail us. A PC or a Mac with a browser and web camera, including an Internet connection is all that is needed. It is our desire that this will promote greater collaboration. You can test this at http://www.go-genesis.com/media/web-conferenc using any username and password 'ywam'. |
