week 6 update in india (backne?)

Article Dated : Wednesday, 26 May 2010 18:03

Base : YWAM Newcastle - The Youth Street Base

The majority of this week was spent doing some sweet paintwork. We were at another old person’s home at a different location but associated with the previous one we were at. It was more remotely located, that was really pretty, and we got to explore the area and see a massive well and see a herdsman with his goats. It really gave us a feel for non-suburban after being in the city, which is where we’ve spent most of our time. We did a fair bit of sanding of walls and then subsequently painting those said walls a lovely shade of purple. Have we mentioned that is colourful?

We also had a few opportunities to pray for local ministries and churches, as well as for the YWAM base in Bangalore. Bangalore is state of where Christians are very oppressed, and some have even been killed. Keep the staff there in your prayers as they serve God where he has called them.

We also went back to the large church where we did our first VBS and sat in on a service. It was really interesting to see the topics they preach on over here, and I think it also really spoke to many of us; about our heart towards the people here, as well as our futures.

Grayson wrote an outreach song and we’re all gearing up for the final few weeks here. One of the staff members here said that he has noticed that often YWAMers don’t finish well. We are praying and making an effort to finish even better than we started. Keep us in your prayers

With Love,

SPIT 2010
