Base : YWAM San Diego/Baja

Main drive to the Defender Hospitality Welcome CenterThe Defender Hospitality Center at Tijuana Del Mar will soon be welcoming arriving teams, volunteers, and YWAM supporters.  This 8,000 square foot structure is the result of many visionary planning sessions, generous donations, tireless volunteers, and the work of skilled craftsmen.

The Defender Hospitality Center will serve as the team registration building, coffee shop, book store, conference room, lobby area, IT offices, and dining hall with its large commercial kitchen. Future plans include the development of an adjacent large outdoor area called Hope Plaza.

With sound and video equipment wired into the main area, groups will experience multi-media presentations while enjoying the building’s locally inspired architecture. Views from the front of the building offer a front row seat to a soccer game or a sunset overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Coronado Islands.

Presently, full-time security guards patrol the campus, and additional perimeter fencing and a grand entrance are in the planning stages. Campus safety
for the family teams and young people staying with us is our top priority.

Once fully developed, the Tijuana Del Mar Campus, located just 20 minutes south of the US/Mexican border, will provide housing for up to 780 participants and staff. The campus was dedicated December 6th, 2008 and is a key resource for serving the spiritually and physically poor and needy in the Tijuana area.

Our thanks to Defender Direct, Indianapolis, for their lead sponsorship of this building and also to the many others who have joined them in making gifts towards this project.
